Seventh Annual Health Literacy Conference:

"Health Literacy in Primary Care: Best Practices and Skill Building"

CALL FOR POSTERS

The Institute for Healthcare Advancement has issued a Call for Posters for its Seventh Annual Health Literacy Conference.  The IHA conference is an annual, national two-day meeting featuring plenary and break-out sessions and a poster session on topics related to health literacy. 

Researchers wishing to present a poster should read the information below carefully.

Conference attendees include health educators, nurses, physicians, dentists, dietitians, administrators, and others.

Continuing education credits are granted for the 1.5 hours during the poster sessions.

 

General Information

Poster Session:    The Poster Session will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008 during the Opening Night Reception.  Boards must be set up in the one-hour break before the Opening Reception, at which time presenters will be at their boards to discuss their projects. 

Registration:          Presenters must be registered attendees of the conference.

Materials:               Presenters may provide handout materials to support their presentations. Presenters are responsible for all their own materials.

Criteria for Evaluating Submissions

A conference abstract review committee will review all proposals that follow the poster abstract guidelines.  Individuals submitting abstracts will be notified of the results of the review by March 14, 2008 via email.

Posters may present information on research findings or program implementation and results.

Abstracts are evaluated on  1) substance and clarity of content;  2) relevance and timeliness in terms of health literacy practice/issues;  3) specificity and practicality;  4)  clarity of writing and presentation;  and 5) appropriateness to session format.

You will be notified by email of acceptance or rejection by March 14, 2008, so a current email address MUST be provided.

Abstracts of each accepted presentation will be reproduced in the conference notebook.  Please disclose any affiliation for which there is a conflict of interest.
